I used to like Magic Table but it seems to have gone down hill. Last couple of time dominated by low end Japs chain smoking and staring into the mirrors. Last Friday we popped in just before Absolute and it was dead. Not helped by a problem with the music meaning there wasn’t any music. Hence we left for Abs.

I don't really like the other bars on 7/1 too much, but some friends of mine really enjoy the place. The Boo-Sa bar is owned (I believe) by an Englishman who apparently runs a friendly neighborhood joint. Personally, I likethe Magic Tablebar, but I seem to be alone in that view... most people say it sucks. There's an Aussie Sports Bar (I think it's called Downunder) across from the Boosa Bar that seems to do decent business. Tequila Dragon, the late night venue, operated at the end of the Soi, but I'm not sure if it's still operating. It used to be THE place to go late night, but the late night scene seems to have moved on to other bigger, better places. Between Magic Table and Eden Club there's a bar called the Ring. I went there once and it was forgettable, but I've looked inside as I've past in times since, and I think it might be a decent bar. I guess my opinion is that -- unless you're going to Eden Club (where I am not a customer) -- the best bar on the street is Absolute 7. Other bars I have enjoyed in recent times: Mojos (Soi 33 across from the Office) Hard Rock Cafe Titanium Bar Both Titanium Bar and Mojos seem to suffer from a lack of customers. I sometimes think that Titanium is an expensive up-market bar on a cheap street (soi 22) and Mojos is an inexpensive neighborhood bar on an expensive street (soi 33). If they could magically change places, they'd probably both be closer to their target customers.

I went to Absolute on Friday night for the first time and was reasonably impressed (which takes some doing). The band were decent and I even recognized a few tunes. Was not sure if all the girls there were working (but… duh.. this is thailand.. so i assume so) as some seemed just to be customers. Any other bars on this soi worth looking into?

if u want more action with the sabai girl you’re gonna have to call for takeout. the owner keeps loads of buddhas and amulets on the ground floor that the girls are scared shitless to indulge in more than a hand job or bj. i’ve found that if u go to the same girl a few times they’ll agree to a bbbj on premises.
