My favorite (former) go go dancer

So I talked with my favorite (former) go go dancer yesterday. We went out drinking and had a great time. We’ve been good friends for over a year, and it was as much fun to go drinking with her as it is to go out with any other good friend.

I said to her at one point, “I missed you while  you were gone.  She replied that she had missed me too. I laughed and said “I don’t think so”

She looked a bit hurt and said, “I called you every week.”

It’s true, she did. Maybe she did miss me.  We always got along great.

I asked her about E-boy. She confirmed that she plans to go back to him as soon as she can. They get along well, he takes good care of her and she likes living overseas. She said she would have loved to travel to Australia or America with me (things we talked about last year), and to continue the travel around Thailand that we enjoyed before Christmas, but that her thing with E-boy is good and she doesn’t want to fuck it up.

She told me that she feels quite lucky. She said that she met a lot of Thai women in Europe when she was there who have sad stories about guys who came to Thailand on holiday and convinced them to go back to Europe with them. The women often find that the guy is very different back home than he was here in Thailand.  E-boy, by  contrast, has a good job, a decent character, and takes very good care of her.

So she’s happy. And I’m happy for her. After half a year of waiting I have my answer. Her future is in another country and with another man.

I’m okay with that.

So…

She’s not a working girl any more; she’s a private citizen. She has a good boyfriend who takes care of her. We weren’t gonna do the horizontal bop. We had fun drinking, eating, singing and talking. I know what’s up in her life and it’s good, so I don’t want to screw that up for her.

I called the snuggler today. I plan to see her tomorrow.

Time to move forward with my life.

During the time that my favorite (former) go go dancer was gone I dropped 18 kilos (about 40 pounds) and got into the gym to improve my fitness. I paid down some of the personal debt I had accumulated and I cut my drinking down to a small amount. The time that she was away was good for me. Now she can move into the next phase of her life, and I think that my life will be better too

We talked about getting together to go listen to some music and do a few other things while she is still in Bangkok, but she plans to go away as soon as she can, though given the visa issues she may face it might be a while before she can return to E-boy.

It’s friendly and comfortable between us.

It’s all good.
