Decided to come back today, so we grabbed the overnight bus. No scenery to see at night. We left at 7 pm and arrived at 3:30 in the morning. 8+ hours but I spent 5 or 6 asleep... on the VIP bus the seats drop almost flat (about 60 degree slope) and the lights are out. Great way to travel, second only to the overnight train which has an actual bed. That sounds grim. I'm flitting over to chang mai for a few days on my hols soon...thought the flights were really cheap..total for a return 1630 baht, 1 hour fly time, air asia...unless you know something I don't? Guess the bus is way more scenic, but thats 8 hours I could spend more productiveley, ie hanging out the backend of a tequila sodden showgirl. :-) ps...good moves for the 3 pops...what a pro. wow..nine hours on a bus?
