I don’t think that it’s any secret that my recent trip to Isaan, which I wrote about in a 5-part blog, was made with my friend Kenny who produces his own Bangkok blog.
Kenny has his own unique way of putting together a blog. It’s heavy with photos, which is pretty cool.

The home of the classic bargirl look for me is Udon Thani — the home of the hardened Khon Lao “monkey face” with high cheeks, flat schnoz and triangular mouth (I’ve never quite been able to adequately explain what I mean by “triangular mouth”). They’re also tiny – much more Laotian in stature.
Ask a good girl where the hookers come from and chances are she’ll point a contemptuous Chinese white finger at the little brown fucking machines from Udon. Even the cousins from Ubon Ratchathani are scathing of the Udon Thani girl’s willingness to outslut them all.
Second would be Buriram, for all the reasons WW gives. Interestingly, Buriram has a reputation for fine-looking girls even among the Thai. It’s not just a white boy thing. I have a few Thai managers in Bangkok for whom the phrase “Here comes another truckload from Buriram” holds as much currency as it does for me.

ST: The Udon Thani look must not appeal to me because I can’t remember ever meeting a bar girl from Udon, though I hear other guys often say that they met a girl from there. The look you describe (trianglular mouth, etc) SOUNDS unappealing to me… I probably steer wide of them when I see their little angular faces peering at me…
As for RAWBangkok with Kenny??? In a word:
